Where to Vote on Election Day

Spring Park City Hall, 4349 Warren Avenue, Spring Park, MN.  

Polling locations are open on Election Day from 7 a.m. - 8 p.m. 

Absentee Voting Before Election Day

All eligible voters may choose to vote before Election Day through absentee voting. Ballots for absentee voting are available 46 days before an election and can be submitted in person at Hennepin County or by mail. You must complete an absentee ballot application (PDF) in order to receive a ballot. Once you receive a ballot you will vote, place into a series of envelopes, have it witnessed and mail it or drop it off at City Hall for election staff to send to Hennepin County.

Early Voting Before Election Day

Early Voting is available at Spring Park City Hall during the 18-day period before Election Day starting July 24. You complete an early voting certificate form at City Hall and cast your ballot directly into the ballot counter just like you would do on election day. To learn more about the process, see below and select the method of voting you plan to use.

Voting before Election Day in Person - Primary Election

For the 2026 Primary Election, you can vote in person before Election Day (August 11) at Spring Park City Hall July 24-August 10, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday – Thursday.  Friday 8:00a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (holidays excluded). 

Extended hours for voting before Election Day at City Hall are available on the following days:

  • Saturday, August 8, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Monday, August 10, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Voting before Election Day in Person - General Election

For the 2026 General Election, you can vote before Election Day (November 3) at Spring Park City Hall October 16-November 2, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday – Thursday. Friday 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (holidays excluded). 

Extended hours for voting before Election Day at City Hall are available on the following days:

  • Saturday, October 24 - 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Saturday, October 31 - 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Sunday, November 1 - 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Monday, November 2 - 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Before you can receive a ballot, you will need to complete an early voting certificate. Certificates will be available at city hall; you don’t need to complete one prior to coming.

When voting before Election Day at city hall, there is no campaigning allowed inside the polling location, this includes wearing material that supports a candidate on the ballot. The polling place is on public property, which means there is no campaigning allowed anywhere on the property, even beyond 100 feet. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Voting Absentee before Election Day In-Person or by Mail

There are several ways to get an application:

Once your completed application is received, an election official will mail your ballot to you during the absentee voting period which begins 46 days before every election.

Deadline to apply

You can apply for a ballot any time during the year, except on Election Day. If you plan to vote through the mail, remember to leave time for election officials to mail your ballot, and for you to complete and return it on or before Election Day. 

Can I have applications sent automatically?

You can have paper applications sent to you before each election. Complete and return the Minnesota application to automatically receive absentee ballot applications form to Hennepin County Elections to have an absentee ballot application automatically mailed to you before each election. Applications are mailed at least 60 days before an election.

Returning your ballot

Once you receive your ballot, read and follow the instructions carefully. Your ballot will not count if any required information is missing or incomplete.

Deadline to return your ballot

The deadline to return your ballot for any election is 5 p.m. on Election Day.  Agent delivery has until 8 p.m. to return ballots on Election Day.  

    Returning your ballot in person 

During the early voting period, you can return your ballot to Spring Park City Hall, and they will mail to Hennepin County. You may NOT drop your ballot off at any polling place on Election Day. Your absentee ballot will not count if it is received at Spring Park City Hall after 5 p.m. on Election Day.

    Returning your ballot by mail

You may return your ballot by U.S. mail, expedited mail or a package delivery service (such as FedEx or UPS). If you choose this option, your ballot must be delivered to Hennepin County Elections at the address on your ballot return envelope by 8 p.m. on November 3, 2026, in order to be counted. Please note: Your ballot must be received, not post marked, by the deadline in order to be counted. Your absentee ballot will not count if it is received through the mail or delivery service after 8 p.m. on Election Day.

    Returning a ballot for someone else 

A person can return a ballot for other voters in person at Spring Park City Hall by 5 p.m. on Election Day. This person can return ballots for up to three (3) voters and will need to show identification with name and signature when returning a ballot.
